I was thinking...have you ever looked around your home and taken photo's of things you have that you like? then looked back a few years later-have you still got those things?
I do this quite often and I am surprised at how my taste changes, how as I go through different phases in my life, my surrounding reflect this too.
But what I also noticed is that I don't have enough of what I truly like around me. And I don't mean it in the sense of I don't have enough things or that I am being greedy. What I mean is that my true taste of things for this moment in time, is not reflected in the objects around my home. I think this is partly because I haven't tried, with two small kid's I have not given much attention to my home. I got my diploma in Interior Decorating and before I had children, in fact, a bit after I had my son, I used that information a lot in sewing. I made all the blinds for my house, some bedding, quilts, cushion covers. I love to sew. Then it just stopped. I LET it stop. Sure, my sewing machine needs a service. But all I need to do is take it in for one! I buy little things here and there for my home, but as I look around it, I can see it is lacking. I got stuck on a style and a taste that is not truly reflective of who I am inside, probably due to influence and the fear of being different to what all my friends have. Don't get me wrong, to a degree it is me and I do like what I have, but I am not in love with it!
So I though, this year, I am not going to be like this. I took some photo's of the things I do love around my home, they are the things that are considered old-fashioned, vintage, things that are a bit cottagey. But they are ME. And I decided, I know of so many second hand, vintage, ric-rac shops around here and in the next town that I have always wanted to visit but never have. Starting when the kid's go back to school, this is what I am going to do!
I have whole mornings to get in my car and drive to these places, camera in tow, and a little big of money in the bag (shhhh) and hopefully by doing this I will be accomplishing a few things:
1) getting out the house more
2) going to places I want to vist
3) taking great photos
4) Getting a few things for my home that I can look at everyday and that makes me smile.
Just a little photo of a sweet little miniature table and chair set with tea set that I took a photo of last year.

Love the change, but I'll miss the cows.
This is my first time to your blog. I don't know what your heading looked like before, but I absolutely adore your current one! I wish I knew how to make a banner!
