It's been 4 years since I started this blog.
The reasons why I started blogging have changed over the years.
My blog has undergone numerous "face lifts" and "botox" injections.
It's frustrated me, irritated me and saddened me.
But like a faithful pair of old jeans...I kept it and sometimes was tempted to throw it away but always hung on...just in case. I am glad I did.
I haven't always been the best blogger. I don't blog everyday. I don't always have the time or the desire or know what to say.
It's been sad when I have had faithful readers who have stopped visiting or commenting and it's been disheartening when I have gone to blogs I love to read to see my link taken off their "favorite blog list". I have wondered why...It's been discouraging to visit a blog I love to read and leave comments day after day and to never have a comment returned on mine...
But I have learned from all of this that these are not the reasons I blog. I don't blog to get comments, or to get a reaction. Yes, feedback is lovely, it's nice to know someone is reading what you write and that they care to take a few seconds to let you know they read.
I blog because I love to write. I have a passion for writing, for expressing my thoughts. I love putting my thoughts into flowing words, whether they flow through my fingertips that grip a pen that writes them on paper, or through my fingertips tapping on the little black keys of my computer.
It's the process I enjoy.
I love art, I love to create, I love to document my life and photograph it. It doesn't matter I may never be a "writer" or a "photographer" in the professional sense of the word, all that matters is that as I go through my life, I am happy with what I do.
So I changed my blog to read " living life creatively" instead of "scrapping till the cows come home" as scrap booking seems to limit my reasons for this blog. But it's still me!
I am just a woman who loves to create. I live creatively. I love my husband and children and I love being a mom. I lead a simple life. And I like to share it.
These are the reasons why I blog. For me.
But I thank you for reading and for those of you who take the time to comment. It adds that much extra joy to my life.

Beautifully written. I always read your blog but hardly have time to comment sorry.
Wow Bonnie you hit the nail on the head with this post! I so agree with you as I'm coming up on 3 years of blogging real soon. Like you...I do it for me. My niece is new to blogging this year and this is the same advise that I've given her...to remember that she is only writing for herself and to NOT wait for the approval of others because it can be very dis-hearting. But then along the way you pick up a couple of gems who become real diamonds...rock solid friends who are there for you all the way...through thick n'thin! I'm so glad that I found you and that we've become rock solid friends.
Fondly, Roberta
My sentiments exactly, Bonnie! You have portayed your feelings perfectly! I must say when I saw "Living life creatively" pop up in my email via the feeder, I thought - "where did this come from?" as I didn't recognise the name LOL! As usual, I so enjoy reading your blog and even though I have never actually met you, it feels like I have! looking forward to today's flower tutorial at "a pocket full of posies".
I fully agree with what you said, I also blog purely for myself, and I don't care anymore if no one comments or reads what I write.I do read your blog every day, although I don't always comment, just so that you know
xxx
Hi Bon, I totally agree with you too and with other fellow commenters here.
You are one of my best friends and because we live so far from each other, I love to read your blog and about your life even though I know you will tell me all about it in your letters!!
i enjoy keeping a blog now, even though its only been a little while, and I get surprised when anyone other than you comments! haha! i just post for me too.
i just love how you express things though.
i do always try and leave a comment, sometimes, i see lots of people have had the same sentiment, or even said what I thought of the post or creation better than i could, and then I don't know what to say! maybe thats just me!
I have always loved reading your blog and i'm glad too that you have kept it going. i like the new title too!
i hope you had a good weekend.
we had our assembly, which we thoroughly enjoyed, i have lots to do today though! (having my breakfast glean of emails and blog updates!)
I hope you have a good week ahead and looking forwad to the lessons on 'posie' this week.
Hi Bonnie, I think your new blog name is much more "you". I think you could be a professional photographer in a heartbeat! I just love your photos of flowers, china, and you even made a laundry look wonderful and fresh!! You are a ray of sunshine when I get an update from you. Love to see all your creations, sewing, scrapping, photos, decorating...cause I live a simple life too, trying to keep focussed on the stuff that makes a difference to the people I love. Big hugs, warm thoughts, Jan
well said! i feel the same way sometimes. i've been blogging for 3 years and sometimes when i'm ready to quit and i'm thinking, "why am i doing this?" i look back on old posts and see a kind of virtual scrapbook of my life...photos of friends, family and my art and then i think, that's why i do it! it is to share my little corner of the world with others but even more important, it is a record of my life and of the things i love. thanks for this wonderful post! :) i needed to hear that today.
Oh wow, I read your little piece in the Ideas magazine, only to find out I'm already following you! Great stuff!
Thank you to you Bonnie!!!
I love visiting your blog and reading what you become, what you create... I'm still fan!!!
Well said (or written), Bonnie. I "get" what you are saying about writing for yourself. It does feel good, however, when people comment..good or bad...on your posts. In a way, I guess, it sort of validates what you (or I) are doing and writing about. Does that make sense? On the other hand, I don't expect everyone to really care or be interested in everything I write about. So, I guess it goes both ways.
Anyway, keep up your good work. I think your blog is beautiful, your art is gorgeous, and I enjoy reading it and trying to be creative as well.
Angela
