Yesterday I went to a Nursery called Aspidistra. I hadn't been there before. I met up with a group of my girl friends and all our kids. I went off on a little tour of the place with my camera. I was completely astounded. The Nursery is a maze of little hidey-holes and every little turn and nook and cranny is filled with wonder and imagination. This is not your average nursery.
There are little areas staged as it would be in a garden. There is just so much detail and so much to take in at every glance.
Instead of rows upon rows of plants, making you yawn with boredom, you can pick and choose your plants, containers, garden embellishments in this amazing setting, while getting your imagination fired up with all the visual inspiration around you at the same time!
Now this is what I call a nursery!
Now this is what I call a nursery!
Got an old bath? Why not transform it into a lovely water feature!
Besides it being a nursery, there are also aviaries through out the nursery : finch's and chickens, budgies and all kinds of birds. We saw these adorable baby finch's-so sweet!
There is just something about wire, wood and mosaic that I love!
Beautiful water fountain.
This is beautiful, an old door transformed into a work of art!
Even the door handle-who would of though an old strainer would suffice?
Got some rusty old garden implements? Frame them up!
Beautiful pales, buckets, enamels and tins everywhere!
Another ingenious frame idea.
Lovely old bathtub put to good use.
Beautiful colorful and cheerful mosaic!
Pretty roses!
These funny cats were everywhere, giving a fun, whimsical feel to the place!
I like this idea, an old window shutter with some random plates and nick naks!
An old cupboard and terracotta pots! Bliss!
Gorgeous heart and rose!
Love the white and blue wood behind the flowers.
More beautiful mosaic -blue on blue
This is also cute-old crates decorated with rusty old baking trays and muffin tins and a few terracotta pots!
More great shelving ideas.
Rusty watering cans, chicken wire and beautiful ceramic
I have an old frame just like that, that has been sitting waiting for me to do something to it...so many ideas now!
I want a cupboard like this!! Love the "ouma" (A South African) rusk tin.
This is my favorite as I love the combination of the glossy ceramic against the worn blue of the wood!
Love the bright orange wall and all that natural greenery, little hearts, and worn cupboard.
I have so many ideas flooding my brain now for my garden and tons of "junk" I could reuse, revamp and re-purpose! And of course I will definitely go back there and next time maybe even purchase something for my garden!

That nursery certainly is a feast for the eyes Bonnie! Thanks for sharing your lovely photos! The waterfeature with the frame, circular metal objet and flowing into the bowl is my favourite- such a sweet idea!
Thats just the sort of place I love to browse around too - there's so many lovely things and great ideas! I love the blue flower pot because it's quite like the ones I have in my garden. Thanks for sharing Bonnie.

Such beautiful pictures you have taken. I have been meaning to visit this nursery and now I can see what all the fuss is about!!! I think the photo of the blue bowl on the table with pebbles would make a beautiful canvas-photo!! Thanks for sharing. Nicki
