July at the Nature Reserve

We've just had our three week school vacation. It was a cold, wet and rainy one (as it is this time of year here!) but we had a few nice days (when I say a "few" maybe 3!) of no rain in which we could venture outside.

Otherwise we stayed in doors, watched movies and guzzled popcorn, played card games, monopoly (which I hate!)did some baking, went to the cinema to watch Ice Age4, did some crafts, slept, cuddled in bed and read books...

The kids cousins came to stay for 4 days. So on this particular day, I bundled all 4 kids up and headed to the Nature reserve. (by the way I could write another whole post on my experience of taking 4 kids all under the age of 11 to the supermarket! I think I came close to near insanity. I kept spinning around, doing head counts, saying "shhhh" in between "okay, who is dragging their feet?!" and "please don't talk to me, I can't think of what I need to get!"...but I made it and I am here to tell the tale!)

oh, right now, I miss this sight more than anything...blue skies...it has rained this entire week, since we got back from our weekend away. 8 Days of solid rain... I am officially sick of it! I have a whole basket of linen and towels piling up to wash!

"My kingdom for a sunshiny day!"

Look! A souffle in the middle of the forest (actually a toadstool!)

Please send some sun your way when you pop in to say hi! :)

Lovely photos as usual. We haven't had much sunshine either, though today looks as if it is going to be a nice day, so whatever sun is shining here I'd like to keep. They are forecasting rain for tonight and the rest of the week.

Only a few more weeks left and it will be Spring......can't come quick enough for me.
